Donna Tartt’s astonishing writing style
In The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, Theo is the main character who tells his story using first-person point of view (“I”), beginning when he is 13 years old and ending when he has reached adulthood. There are pages and pages of details that are unnecessary. However, the details are what makes the novel work so well. scenes are described with lots of detail. But most of The Goldfinch is told in a more casual, natural voice, with irreverent side thoughts, and humorous thinking.
